Supervision
"Listen slant." - Muriel Dimen
Supervision is where we learn to trust the not-knowing, to sit with the uncertainty that lives at the heart of therapeutic work. Rather than focusing on techniques and interventions, we explore what it means to be present with another person's pain without rushing to fix or cure.
I work with clinicians who want to develop their capacity to be affected by their work without being overwhelmed by it. We'll examine what gets stirred up in you when you sit with particular clients, what your body knows that your mind hasn't caught up to yet, and how to use your countertransference as a compass rather than a burden.
This isn't supervision that teaches you what to do—it's supervision that helps you discover who you are as a therapist. We'll explore your clinical intuition, your edge places, the places where you lose yourself and the places where you find yourself in the work.
Supervision focus:
Developing your clinical intuition
Working with difficult countertransference
Managing the impact of trauma work
Integrating social justice principles in practice
Learning to trust the relationship as the intervention
Balancing holding and challenging
Understanding power dynamics in therapy
For supervisees seeking:
Relational and psychodynamic approaches
Trauma-informed practice
Culturally responsive therapy
Work with marginalized communities
Integration of body awareness
Supervision that honors your humanity
